Photo that convinced Harry and Meghan the royals were ‘against them’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly ‘convinced’ the royal family was ‘against them’ after the Queen shared her New Years 2020 photo, according to a royal expert.

The photo, which was taken in the throne room at Buckingham Palace, shows the Queen surrounded by her son Prince Charles, her grandson Prince William and her great grandson Prince George, showing the line of succession.

But royal author Andrew Morton claims the photo prompted Harry and Meghan to question their position in the royal family.

According to The mirror, in her unauthorized biography, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, Says Morton: “The royal couple suspected that the whole institution was conspiring against them. In their opinion, the evidence was all around them.

“The unspoken code was simple: the future of the monarchy was secure, with or without Meghan and Harry.”

It wasn’t until days after the photo was released that the Sussexes shocked everyone by announcing that they were stepping down as a member of the Royal Family and becoming financially independent.

At the time, Buckingham Palace responded, saying they understood the couple’s desire to do something different, but added: “These are complicated issues that will take time to resolve.”

Harry and Meghan have since created a life in California with their two children Lilibet and Archie.

They have announced several plans, but perhaps the most anticipated are Harry’s memoirs, which should provide some insight into why the Sussexes have left royal life behind.

Harry announced the memoir with a statement that read, “I am writing this not as the prince I was born, but as the man I have become.”

“I have worn many hats over the years, literally and figuratively, and I hope that by telling my story – the ups and downs, the mistakes, the lessons learned – I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think. “

Penguin Random House, publisher of the books, said: “In an intimate and heartfelt memoir of one of the most fascinating and influential world figures of our time, Prince Harry will share, for the very first time, the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses and life lessons that helped shape it. “
