Nick Knowles leaves Big House Clearout guest in tears over family photo | Television & Radio | Showbiz and television
The presenter visited a family in Bolton, Greater Manchester, who were overwhelmed by a mountain of clutter that took up considerable space in their home. Nicky, who lives with husband Chris and daughter Lucy, had her cluttered home completely transformed by Nick’s team on the Channel 5 show. During the emotional episode, Nicky started sobbing when a ” beautiful” photo of her grandmother was placed in her newly renovated room.
Since moving in 12 years ago, the chaotic, damp master bedroom had never been touched and was piled high with Nicky and Chris’s belongings.
The kitchen, guest bedroom and living room were also cluttered and Nicky, Chris, Lucy and Nicky’s son Sam, who lives in college, were instructed to throw out items they no longer needed.
With the items out of the house, Nick’s team of experts got to work revamping the house from head to toe.
At the end of the episode, Nicky and her family were taken back to their house to see the final result.

Nicky and Chris were then taken upstairs to see how Nick’s team had transformed the master bedroom into a tranquil and relaxing space.
They painted the walls a soothing gray and added gold mirrors to make the room feel more spacious.
A stunned Nicky said: ‘The whole thing looks like a magazine, it’s like the way other people live.’
A reassuring Nick told him: “No, that’s how you live now and the reason you can live like this is because you made all the hard decisions to move all this to have some place in your house to live rather than just exist.”
She quickly cried again when she came across a black and white photograph on her new dressing table of her grandmother aged 18 while working in a warehouse.
“It’s beautiful, thank you,” she told Nick as she leaned over the picture which was mounted in a gold frame to match the mirrors.
When Nick asked her why her grandmother meant a lot to her, she replied, “I was always very close to my grandmother when I was little.”
Nick Knowles’ Big House Clear Out airs Thursdays at 8pm on Channel 5 and episodes are available to watch on My5.
