Assembly Election 2022 Live Updates: Hello and welcome to the ABP Live blog to find all the latest news from the polls battlegrounds of Uttar Pradesh and Manipur.
Campaigning for the fourth phase of the UP elections will end at 6pm today, with polls due to take place on February 23 for 60 assembly seats in 9 districts.
In terms of the campaign, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold public meetings in Pilibhit, Sitapur and Barabanki districts. Later, he will hold an organizational meeting in Varanasi.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath will address public meetings in Hardoi, Rae Bareli and Lucknow today.
Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani is due to address two public meetings in UP Prayagraj today.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party Chairman and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will visit Hardoi, Rae Bareli, Sultanpur and Amethi.
Congress Secretary General Priyanka Gandhi will hold public meetings in Lucknow.
BSP supremo and former chief minister Mayawati is expected to speak at a public meeting in Prayagraj.
Shifting attention to the UP campaign after Punjab, Delhi CM and AAP National Organizer Arvind Kejriwal will hold public meetings in Lucknow and Barabanki today. On February 22, he will speak at public meetings in Sahjanwa, Khalilabad and Rudhauli.
Notably, the Congress is set to organize Shakti Yatra in Assembly constituencies across the UP. According to the Congress, this yatra will be held in the spirit of women’s empowerment and women’s power fighting against injustice and inequality. Under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi, the party promotes her “Girl Hoon Lad Sakti Hoon” campaign.
The fourth phase of the UP election will cover 9 districts including Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Lucknow, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Fatehpur, Banda.
With eyes on the Manipur elections, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will campaign in Imphal. He will pay floral tributes to the martyrs at Shaheed Minar, followed by a tribute at the Nupi Lal memorial.
The MP for Wayanad is due to speak at a public meeting in the capital Imphal.
State elections in Manipur will be held in two phases on February 28 and March 5.
