Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, together with senior brass, inspected a number of combat positions in the liberated regions of Kalbajar and Lachin on the state border, the ministry reported. April 8.
The minister familiarized himself with the social and living conditions created for personnel serving in the region, the report adds.
Hasanov was informed that all the conditions required to provide high-quality day and night service had been established and the observation posts had been equipped with sophisticated technology.
He spoke with members of the military, inquired about their concerns and wished them luck in their duties. The servicemen gave thanks for the attention, care and conditions provided in the military unit, as well as their pride in serving on the state border
Hasanov instructed relevant officers on how to organize combat tasks and improve the combat ability of troops.
Later, the minister visited the newly constructed military facilities in Kalbajar and Lachin regions.
It was reported that the requirements have been established for military personnel in the military facilities in accordance with modern standards and they have been equipped with contemporary equipment, furniture and inventory. An armory, dormitory, dining room, kitchen, medical center, food and storage facilities, bathroom, and generators that provide uninterrupted electricity to the area had been created.
The Minister was informed that all the conditions have been met to offer technical maintenance of military equipment and repair places with contemporary facilities for these purposes. In addition, seasonal maintenance of military equipment and vehicles at the points had been planned.
Commenting on some important issues, Hasanov highlighted the importance of following safety rules at maintenance and repair sites, as well as other important issues.
After reviewing the progress of construction activities at several military sites in the Kalbajar and Lachin regions, Hasanov gave relevant instructions on the quality of work carried out in the region.
It was stressed that improving the social and living conditions of Azerbaijani military personnel operating in high mountains is a top priority for the government.
