BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover shares a photo of ‘Rs. 10 crore’ dining table after resignation

BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover shared a photo of what he said was his ‘Rs. 10 crore dining table days after the fintech company accused him of splashing nearly Rs. 1 crore ($130,000) on the purchase of a dining table.

Sharing a photo of a dining table, Grover wrote on Twitter, “Is that a space rocket? Is it a time machine? No, it’s a dining table ₹10cr!! Haha! I don’t hold the Guinness World Record for the most expensive table of all time. I don’t intend to either. Press – don’t fall for the lies of the BharatPe Board (undisclosed sources) – you will lose your credibility like them.

Taking a potshot at BharatPe’s board, Grover wrote: “It’s not even worth 0.5% of that. I’d rather put ₹10cr into business and create jobs for 1,000 people so they can earn and put a decent meal on their tables for their families. Goal; Personal objective (loss of credibility) by BharatPe Board / Investors – 1: Prodigality – 0.”

Last week, Twitter erupted with a meme fest at the news that Grover had been forced to resign minutes after receiving the agenda for an upcoming board meeting. According to reports, the board was to discuss possible action against Grover based on the report submitted by consultancy PwC.
