Announcement of the 2021 Comedy Pet Photo Awards winners

The winners of the 2021 Animal Friends Comedy Pet Photo Awards have been announced. This year, the big winner is Zoe Ross for her photo of the Pepper puppy. Ross wins a grand prize of £ 2,000 (over US $ 2,600 at current conversion rates), part of which will be donated to a pet welfare charity and spent on dog treats from family.

Ross’s photo, “Whizz Pop,” shows a well-timed bubble floating past Pepper’s bottom. After hearing of his victory, Ross said, “We never thought we would win, but we entered the contest because we liked the idea of ​​helping a charity just by submitting a funny photo of Pepper. She is such a tiny monkey and very proud of her, bringing items from the garden and parading past you until you notice her. He’s the happiest puppy we’ve ever known and completely loved in pieces. ‘

Pepper was nine weeks old at the time of the photo and is now seven months old. Pepper was added to the family to help the other dog in the family, Dolly, with separation anxiety. About Pepper, Ross says, “She’s been a wonderful addition to the family, providing a lot of extra love and entertainment for all of us, especially Dolly – they’re inseparable.”

In addition to the grand prize winner, the competition also recognized winners in seven other categories, including Cat, Dog, Horse, All other creatures, Pets that most closely resemble their owners, Junior and Video. Beyond the winners, 10 photographers were also recognized as highly recommended for their entries. All category winners and highly recommended photographers received a certified bag and a new Animal Friends Comedy pet gift bag.
