Alfa Romeo is the latest team to display the 2022 F1 livery
Alfa Romeo is the latest F1 team to present its 2022 livery at a special launch after the Barcelona test, showcasing a slightly revised livery.
After the nine F1 teams presented their car before or during the Barcelona tests, Alfa Romeo left it until after the race to present its 2022 livery on C42 during an online launch with Valtteri Bottas, Guanyu Zhou , Robert Kubica and Frederic Vasseur.
The team kept the red/brown and white combination but presented themselves in a vastly different way, with the former taking up more space than before. The rear wing is painted in the colors of the Italian flag to show Alfa Romeo’s country of origin.
“I’m impressed with our new car, the C42,” Bottas said. “I think the livery is really beautiful, the Alfa Romeo Centro Stile has done a brilliant job. It’s my first car at Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN, of course, which makes it special, and I’m really looking forward to it. to be on the grid in Bahrain with her.
“What is exciting is that we have no idea how this first race is going to go. now we are getting closer to the moment that really matters. Since I joined this team, I have seen so much motivation within this team: everyone pushes a lot, tries to work harder than others to be competitive, and it gives me an extra boost when I’m in the cockpit.
His teammate Zhou said: “I’m completely pumped up for the season and seeing the C42 in the livery I’ll be racing it in definitely makes it feel real. We are at the start of a new era, with new cars and new regulations, and this creates an opportunity for all teams to progress as we are all starting from scratch.
“Everyone at Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN has been incredibly helpful since my arrival and seeing all the hard work, commitment and drive from everyone, in Hinwil and on the track, fills me with pride and excitement. ‘m looking forward to being on the grid with this car and working with my team to bring home the results we are aiming for together.
As reserve driver Kubica added: “The start of a new season is always a time when expectations, hopes and plans come together: this year the stakes are even higher as we take a small leap into the unknown with the new regulations.. There has been an incredible amount of work on this car, the C42, and I can’t wait to see what the team can accomplish with it.
“In my role, my aim is to provide as much help as possible in the development of this car: we know how important the margins for improvement are at this stage in the life of a car and we know that every Upgrading can make the difference, so the work we do at the grassroots is going to be crucial to getting results on track.
Meanwhile, team boss Vasseur said: “The start of the season is always an exciting time, where you see the fruits of the labor of hundreds of people over a long period of time. The C42 is a car we look forward to seeing race, not just because it’s the first we’ve built in this new cycle of regulations, one in which racing should be closer and more exciting, but because we have the utmost confidence in this car to help the team take a big step towards the front of the grid.
